Profile Application Support Engineer (Remote Eligible

A Profile application support engineer within our Retail Bank Technology requires the design, coding, and testing of software projects, with a special focus on the underlying architecture of systems and integration between them. Additionally, this individual is expected to lead projects and project teams, mentor junior engineers and contribute to best practices. We hire engineers that have both systems, Profile application, and software backgrounds. Duties include development in one or more of the following technologies and practices: 24x7 application support, Linux system administration, bash, resiliency and automation, Mumps, Profile Scripting Language (PSL), SQL.

Essential Functions:

• Participate in 24x7 support of the Profile application

• Maintain the cloud infrastructure and related services of the Profile application

• Work with the Engineering Team Leader and business owners to refine and clarify project requirements.

• Work with the Engineering Team Leader to help manage tasks and stories.

• Provide team leadership and proactively seek out areas for improvement.

• Implement projects using existing design standards and within accepted defect rate based on specification documents.

• Help gather and provide input to assist in overall team process improvement and product design stability.

• Properly track issues and resolutions in relation to the development effort using JIRA.

• Ensure that all code retains logical stability, reliability, confidentiality, and integrity of Capital One systems is in accordance with Capital One policies, procedures and guidelines.

• Ability to influence multiple levels on highly technical issues and challenges

Qualifications

• At last 5 years of professional experience supporting 24x7 Enterprise critical applications such as financial products

• At least 5 years of professional experience with managing Linux based systems

• At least 2 years of professional experience managing projects and teams
